All references to “We”, “Our” or “Us” in this Terms and privacy page shall be interpreted to mean a reference to the Royal Borough of Greenwich Council.  

Privacy 

We value your right to personal privacy and care about protecting your privacy online. 

No personal information you provide will be passed on to third parties for commercial purposes.  

We reserve the right, where permitted by law, to share information amongst its own officers and other agencies to improve and develop the services the council provide.  

If you create an account to add listings to the directory, your information will be stored securely in our system and not shared with third parties. You can request that your information is removed at any time by emailing community-directory@royalgreenwich.gov.uk. This will mean you cannot add your listings to the directory. 

If you add a listing to the directory, you will have control over the information that is published on the Greenwich Community Directory website. Only publicly available information will be shared and you can delete or request to delete your account at any time.  

Securing your data  

Although we take steps to protect your personal data and/or information, there are always risks with using any website to submit personal details. 

Our security arrangements offer a minimum of 128bit SSL encryption and you can check that the site is secure by checking for any of the following: 

  • an 'https://' in the address bar 
  • a yellow padlock symbol on the browser 
  • or, sometimes, the secure website address will be highlighted in green  

Terms of uploading content to our website 

If you post or upload any content that violates a third party’s intellectual property rights or their right to privacy, we have the right to disclose your identity to that third party. 

You agree fully to indemnify, defend and hold us, and our officers, directors, employees, agents and suppliers, harmless immediately on demand, from and against all claims, liability, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including reasonable legal fees that arises from:

  • any content or material you upload or transmit through the website (including comments, photos, product reviews, endorsements, opinions, testimonials)
  • any non-compliance with or breach of the terms of this disclaimer by you
  • any other liabilities arising out of your use of this website, or the use by any other person accessing the website using your account and/or your personal data and information

We are not responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any content you, or others post on our website. 

We are providing this site on an ‘as is’ basis and makes no representations or warranties of any kind with respect to this site or its contents and disclaims all such representations and warranties. 

We make no representations or warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any purpose of the information and related graphics published in this site. The information in this site may contain technical inaccuracies or typographical errors. All liability of the Royal Borough of Greenwich arising for any such inaccuracies or errors is expressly excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. 

Neither the Royal Borough of Greenwich nor any of its directors, employees or other representatives will be liable for loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the use of this site. This is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including (without limitation) compensatory, direct, indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties. 

We have the right to reject submitted listings if they do not comply with the content and publishing standards set out in our Acceptable Use Policy  

Linking policy 

We are not responsible for the contents or reliability of any site we are linked to and we do not endorse the views within them.  

We will regularly check links but cannot guarantee they will work all the time and we have no control over the availability of the linked pages. 

Linking from our website to third party websites  

We will link to third party websites and resources that relate to the information on our directory, for example organisations that run services we’ve listed.  

We have no control over the contents of those websites or resources.

This directory of support is built using Outpost. Outpost is an open source, free-to-use product to manage information about community services.
