Description

Advocacy and participation (children in care)

What advocates provide

  • An independent adult who can help ensure that a child or young person’s views and wishes are represented
  • Greenwich Looked after children and Care Leavers are entitled to access the service free of charge 

Advocates ensure

  • You lead the advocacy process.
  • You are supported to understand all relevant information so you can make well-informed decisions.
  • You get to decide how you wish to participate and communicate.
  • Advocates make sure that no information they have or action they take is hidden from you
  • That your views and wishes are heard, understood, and recorded in all decision-making that affects you
