Newhaven School

Newhaven Gardens is a pupil referral unit for KS3 and KS4 students who have been excluded or are at risk of exclusion from a mainstream school.

Pupils are referred by the Local Authority or through the Fair Access Panel. Pupils always start their Newhaven placement in the Assessment Centre, where their needs are assessed.  Some young pupils will return to mainstream, whilst others will move to the main site of the PRU.  The school’s aim to provide pupils with a genuine second chance to receive their education, complete exams and move onto the next chapter of their lives at a college, an apprenticeship or mainstream 6th form.
