African & African Caribbean Counselling - Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich Mind
African and African-Caribbean Counselling is culturally sensitive to meet the mental health needs and individual differences of Black people.
We aim to match you as best we can with a counsellor who speaks the same language/dialect or comes from the same cultural background. Besides English, we can provide counselling in Yoruba, Igbo/Ibo, Jamaican Patwa, etc.
We acknowledge that prejudice, discrimination, poverty, homophobia, childhood and present life experiences can affect an individual’s mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
Our counsellors are committed to de-stigmatising the shame, and isolation that Black people face in their lives.
This service is for adults living in the Royal Borough of Greenwich who have a cultural background or identify as being African, African Caribbean and of Mixed Heritage, who would prefer to talk to a counsellor who reflects their ethnicity and cultural background.
