Job Title: Early Years Apprentice

Job details: A superb opportunity has arisen for a Nursery Apprentice to work at More2Childcare, Greenwich. We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can bring unique skills and innovation to our nursery and go on to qualify as practitioners with further career development opportunities at More2Nurseries.

This is a full and fully funded apprenticeship where you will train to work within Early Years and develop key professional development through the work role and mentoring of our team.

The working week at the nursery is 4 or 5 days a week over Monday to Friday.
The duties of a Nursery Apprentice will include:

  • Assisting the Nursery team in providing high quality childcare and plan activities
  • Providing inspiration to nursery children through exciting activities in all areas of learning whilst incorporating EYFS.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure and caring environment.

Hours: Up to 36 per week (no more than an 8 hour day if under 18).

Salary: From £6.80 per hour for 12 months of apprenticeship.

Job Title: Nursery Practitioner - Level 2 or 3 Qualified

Job details: This is a golden opportunity to join our Outstanding nursery in Greenwich. More2childcare is located a few minutes walk from Maze Hill Station (SE10) and on excellent bus routes from North Greenwich Underground. The nursery is in a former Victorian school, with two playgrounds and large spacious rooms.

More2childcare has a fantastic full-time Nursery Practitioner job available. This is for an enthusiastic and versatile Level 2 or 3 qualified nursery practitioner in our group rooms.

Responsibilities of the Level 2/3 Nursery Practitioner:

  • To act as a key worker and provide care for a small group of children.
  • With your knowledge of EYFS help with planning of daily activities and provide suitable play and learning opportunities
  • To write up learning journeys around your key children and contribute to room planning
  • To ensure children under your care develop and learn in a safe and supportive environment
  • To be responsible for monitoring children’s progress and sharing information about their development with their parents and/or carer’s.
  • To carry out all duties associated with looking after your key group and around the daily routine

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum level 2 qualification in childcare
  • Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
  • Previous experience working within a childcare setting
  • Excellent knowledge of child protection procedures and health and safety requirements
  • To have the food hygiene certificate or be willing to complete one. To have a valid 12 hour paediatric first aid certificate or be willing to complete a course

GLL East Children's Centres

Job Title: Child and Family Practitioner - Term Time Only

Job Details: 

 Better Children’s Centres are looking to recruit2 part time Child & Family Practitioners to work within the Thamesmead & Abbey Wood areas 25 hours per week term time only. This role will involve working across our four children’s centres in areas such as within a nursery setting, support the delivery of children centre activities which include stay and play sessions and training crèches. High quality early learning and care which is in line with Early Years Foundation Stage requirements will be essential to your role. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as you will work with colleagues and partners to integrate this role with the wider children’s centre services to help identify and support the needs of local families with young children. You will have experience of working with children under five years of age and their families with a minimum NVQ Level 2 in Child Development (or equivalent) and be able to respond to both group and individual needs.  Knowledge of safeguarding issues and procedures and an understanding of equality and diversity issues is essential in this role. It goes without saying you will be a confident team member with a positive driven approach and flexible attitude. You will be expected to work within the range of hours of 9am-3.45pm.  High-quality care, education and a safe, yet enjoyable environment is of the utmost importance in our Children’s Centres, so your commitment to deliver these will be key to your role. You’ll be a creative thinker, able to lead and devise fun sessions for children and babies up to 5 years old in everything from song and story times to arts and crafts.
