Emotional Based School Avoidance
EBSA is when a child or young person experiances:
- Significant difficulties in attending school
- Emotional distress when faced with attending school
- Staying home with the knowledge of parents/carers and school staff
- An absence of antisocial behaviours
In the video below Dr Nicola Warner & Dr Veronica D'Rozario (Educational Psychologists) explain what we mean by Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and how to support young people who might be finding it difficult to attend school.
