Worship and community work for Sikhs

Ramgarhia Sikh Association is a registered charity and has been serving the local community since 1967. Their objective is to promote the Sikh religion, in particular among the Ramgarhia Sikh community in Woolwich and surrounding areas.

Gurdwara (the door or the gateway to the Guru) is the name given to the Sikhs' place of worship, commonly addressed as Sikh temple in the western world. At the Gurdwara, they recite or sing Sikh scriptures and deliver sermons. The Sikh scriptures are recited or sung and sermons are delivered.

As well as sermons and the singing of the scriptures, the congregation participates in the ceremonies of birth, baptism, marriage, death and celebration of festivals.
