Support and education for young people about drugs, alcohol and crime

LACES is an educational programme which offers educational and practical support to vulnerable young people on the subjects of drugs, alcohol and crime.

The founder, Charles Young, has used his experiences of prison life to steer young people away from the criminal lifestyle towards a happier and healthier existence. He conveys the brutality of prison life through presentations he takes to youth clubs, schools, colleges and, most recently, a naval college, during which an "inmate" sits locked in a mocked-up cell on a stage while Charles talks about what prison is really like.

Get in touch with them if you are a young person, an employee at a school or other institution, or even an ex-prisoner who would like to participate in a LACES session.
