THE MASSEY SHAW FIREBOAT
Massey Shaw is a unique London vessel launched in 1935, serving the London Fire Brigade until it was decomissioned in 1971.
Named after Sir Eyre Massey Shaw, first chief fire office of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, Massey Shaw served during WWII in 'Operation Dynamo' and during 'The Blitz' being credited with saving hundreds of lives and bringing troops back from the beaches of Dunkirk.
The Massey Shaw Educational Trust now has a proud owner and a fanastic group of volunteers working tirelessly to maintain the boat and share the stories and importance of this vessel on the River Thames.
