The Safer Greenwich Partnership has an arrangement in place for carrying out statutory domest homicide reviews when a homicide occurs and falls within the definition of Section 9 of the Domestic Violence Crimes and Victims Act 2004. These reviews are intended to identify lessons to be learnt about how agencies could have acted to prevent the homicide ocurring. A local protocol is in place that outlines the initial notification process for a domestic homicide and the framework for deciding whether a domestic homicide or serious case review progress will be followed.
