Being active can help us look good, feel good and improve our fitness. It’s also a great way to have fun, socialise, lift your mood and help reduce the stresses of everyday life.

Being active means getting your heart rate up, feeling warmer and making your lungs work harder. It can seem hard to fit activity into everyday life but there are loads of ways to get going!

Just 20-30 minutes most days will help you reach your recommended target of 150 minutes a week and will help you feel great. And don’t worry, you don’t have to do all this activity in one go – as long as you’re getting your heart rate up for 10 minutes or more, three times a day, that’s great!

Another easy way to fit activity into your day is walking or cycling instead of driving or taking the bus. Good for your pocket and the environment too!
